ON THE NEW THEME
The 2027 education theme is Governance Without Borders: Connecting Records, Privacy, Security, and Compliance. In the age not just of electronic records but artificial intelligence and machine learning, records management does not exist in a vacuum. IT, legal, privacy, cybersecurity and many more have roles to play in the management of information. This theme is about bridging the gaps that arise when teams with different priorities, and different ways to communicate must work together to govern information in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
We've lined up speakers for the education meetings in September and November, but we still need more speakers for the rest of the year. If you have a suggestion for a speaker, or any other suggestions for events use the form here to share it with the board

Join us either in person or virtually for our first education meeting of the year.
Welcome Chris Hockey from Gibson Dunn as he discusses how some AI note taking apps are violating User Privacy and what that means for Records and Information Managers
Our speaker this month, will be presenting virtually, but Members and Non-Members are encouraged to join us in person at the Ross-Cherry Creek Branch Library to grab lunch, meet the Board of Directors, hear from our Chapter Charity, and network with other RIM professionals.

Beyond the Gold Rush: A Records Manager's guide for AI governance
As the public sector races to adopt artificial intelligence, the “regulatory paradox” has reached a fever pitch. Agencies are no longer just exploring the frontier (they are feeding their records into AI engines).
For records managers and archivists serving as the “Territorial Marshals,” the challenge has shifted. You are no longer just protecting static boxes or servers (you are managing the fuel for AI-powered workflows). This session focuses on how to ensure your agency’s transition to AI is built on a foundation of compliant, secure, and well-managed information.

Pets of ARMA
Unlike a rescue or shelter, Colorado Pet Pantry's mission is to keep pets with their families, so we thought we'd highlight the pets that are part of our families.
First up is Ed Sturgeon's dog Bosco
Bosco is a miniature short-haired dachshund (wiener dog) who was rescued from the Riverdale Animal Shelter in 2023. Believed to be around 6-7 years old, he likes to go on walks, bark at anything and everything, and snuggle under the covers when he sleeps.
