President's Report

It's been a crazy month already and that's not looking to improve soon. We had our board meeting a week before the March meeting and at that time most of the board still had hope to have a semi-regular meeting in March. The news started changing by the minute though, and within hours the city started shutting down. Guidance started coming out not to have large gatherings and now we're pretty much all in isolation! I've been working from home since Friday and have been dealing with records and shredding access in buildings closing across the metro area. ARMA also soon recommended not to have in person meetings. So we're moving on, just in time for our 50th anniversary!

Our plan right now is to have a virtual meeting in April with John Spencer, to bring you that excellent presention in the comfort of your home or office. We'll be trying the Zoom platform, with a similar setup to chapters such as Chicago. Our Spring Seminar is pushed back to June and we are working with the PPA Event Center to make that happen. Hopefully things calm down by then.

There's still a lot of details to figure out, which should happen at the next board meeting in April, which will also be on Zoom. Things we have to figure out is the cost of virutal seminars and how to proceed if anyone wants refunds. We will also re-evaluate if we can have an in person meeting in May. Please let us know if you'd like to help. It's also almost election time for next year!

Remember that as tough as things are for us, it's more difficult for the homeless population. Please help us raise some funds for our chapter charity, The Metro Denver Homeless Initiative.

Calendar of Events

Covid-19 has thrown our world upside down and most things are up in the air. Including MHD ARMA's meeting plans...

It is still unknown whether we will be able to meet in person for May's meeting. What we do know is we can use the Zoom platform and present right to the comfort and safety of your home! So plan to join us for the May 19th meeting one way or another.

We are tentatively planning on holding our Spring Seminar June 16th. This is pending approval with the PPA Center that we can have an all-day seminar. Unfortunately, the quarantine interrupted the negotiation and that is still up in the air. We will pick up the conversation when the PPA Center opens again

Stayed tuned for more information!
