President's Report

Our March speaker is John Spencer. If you've heard John talk you know his presentations are not to be missed, and if you haven't, here's your chance. John will then be heading up to Wyoming to speak at their spring seminar, so you can see him speak twice if you're a huge fan. John gives such an excellent presentation about soft skills and emotional intelligence that can really improve how you work with your colleagues. And it goes beyond records management, so this is a great presentation for your managers and coworkers, register early!

April's coming up very quickly, so also make sure you register early for the Spring Seminar. You already know we have the best Spring Seminars in the country so you won't want to miss these presentations. In celebration of our 50th anniversary I hear there will also be some special 70s treats, so break out the bell bottoms and point to the sky! Information Governance has never had such a groovy time. Early registration ends on March 27th so get that discount while you can.

On March 17th come early for an educational workshop presented by Access Information Protected and our meeting sponsor is Total Document Solutions, Inc.

Please also help us raise some funds for our chapter charity, The Metro Denver Homeless Initiative. We'll continue collecting for our charity so bring some cash to put in the collection bins!

The focus of this presentation is to create awareness and offer some practical and straightforward guidance that will help you enhance the soft skills needed to have positive and productive work relationships. Also, these skills are necessary to help you communicate your ideas, strategies, and results more effectively.

John is the U.S. Records & Information Management Service Delivery Leader for Ernst & Young. John has been a member of ARMA since 2008. Active in the Dallas ARMA Chapter, he served multiple terms as the Chapter President and various roles on the Chapter Board. In addition, he is a nationally recognized speaker on soft skills and emotional intelligence. Most recently, he was the closing keynote speaker for the 2019 ARMA InfoCon Leadership Summit.

You are Invited to Attend Wyoming ARMA Spring Seminar!

Need more continuing education credits? Registration is underway for the Wyoming Chapter of ARMA Annual Spring Seminar titled, "Leadership Skills Every Information Management Professional Needs,” scheduled to take place Thursday, March 19th form 8:30 am-5pm at the Laramie County Community College, CCI Building Rooms 129/130 1400 College Drive, Cheyenne WY.

Registration for the event is $50 for ARMA members, $25 for full-time students with valid identification and $75 for non-ARMA members. (Note: Contact the Wyoming Chapter of ARMA International at [email protected] to arrange for Credit Card payments via PayPal. Fees will be applied.) Registration is Due March 12th.

The registration fee includes beverages, morning break, lunch, and an afternoon ice cream social. In addition, we will again offer our Silent Auction with some wonderful items. All proceeds from the Silent Auction go towards our Scholarship Fund.
