Shawn Cheadle joined Lockheed Martin Space (LM Space) in 2007 and was recently appointed as General Counsel, Operations, serving launch operations, supply chain, production, quality, facilities, ESH, security and special initiatives. Previously, as General Counsel to the Military Space business unit, Cheadle advised executive management on matters involving international and government contracts and subcontracts in major space and ground systems. Cheadle counsels LM Space on e-Discovery, information governance and records management; company policies; and central organizations such as Procurement, Mission Success, and IT; and general legal matters. Formerly, Cheadle served two other aerospace and defense suppliers for over 10 years as General Counsel, Secretary and Regional Vice President.

In November 2018 and in October 2010, Cheadle received the Lockheed Martin General Counsel’s Award for Excellence, for the award of the GPS IIIF $7.2B program and excellence in support of the SBIRS program, respectively. In October 2018, Cheadle received special recognition as an ACC Global Board member and for outstanding service to ACC’s Information Governance Network. In April 2013, Cheadle won the Denver Business Journal’s 2013 Best Corporate Counsel award, and he received the Lockheed Martin Team Excellence Award for a successful government contract settlement. In 2012, he received ACC’s Jonathan S. Silber Award for outstanding committee member.

Cheadle served on the ACC Global Board of Directors 2012-2018, he founded and served as Chair of ACC’s Information Governance Network for two years, and he is Past Chair of the ACC Law Department Management Committee. He served as a Director for 9 years with ACC Colorado, including President in 2007. Cheadle also served on the Dean’s Diversity Council in Colorado, and he supports the Center for Legal Inclusiveness on several inclusive and diversity projects. He is an active member within Lockheed Martin’s Executive Leadership of Inclusive Talent organization and an Ally for Inclusion.

He received his JD from the University of Denver, College of Law, and his BA in English from San Jose State University. Cheadle lives in Colorado with his wife, Lora, and their two boys. He can be found on Disney property or Disney Cruise Lines, or fly fishing the world.
